It is in exceptional times like these that all sorts of new initiatives and creativity bring beauty and positivity to our homes. Belgian eyewear label KOMONO joins this party with the launch of ‘A Moment With’, a digital curation of commissioned work by young artists. Every day, the project will showcase a new creative, who’s work will be taken from a wide range of disciplines: illustrators, filter creators, 3-d and video artists will all bring their message of creativity and positivity. The campaign kicks off with KOMONO’s light blue capsule collection and will feature a selection of the brand’s most celebrated styles.

 

KOMONO also launched an open call to submit your own work through www.komono.com/a-moment-with.

// KOMONO X ANTWERP FASHION DEPARTMENT //

KOMONO is proud to announce its official partnership with the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. For centuries, Antwerp has been the home to innovative fashion: from intricate lace to the game-changing Antwerp Six. Today, Antwerp remains a key city within the global fashion scene with the Royal Academy as the main incubator for new talent and innovative design. KOMONO has spawned from this hub of creativity and aesthetics, and brings the essence of Antwerp to the world.

KOMONO will work together with a selected number of master students in the creation of a capsule eyewear collection linked to the students’ personal work. Our mission is to aid the students’ exploration of innovative forms, their search for new colour combinations and their pursue for the original treatment of materials – and this related to the eyewear category. Workshops, given by our designers and product developers, will develop the students’ skills in 3D drawing/printing, tech sheets, material knowledge and manufacturing. The students will be given complete transparency and accountability as they will be involved from blank page to finished product.

// KOMONO's Creative Fusions //

Involving other creative minds within their process is one of KOMONO’s strengths, along with the clarity of their vision. Asking 11 young creatives to interpret their Signature Collection watches was therefore a natural step, letting each designer, artist or illustrator express how the Signature watch relates to their own handwriting. The results combine the stylish and graphic nature of the watch with powerful artworks, underlining the timelessness and seductive appeal of the Signature series.

// ON TOUR //

What is going to happen when a world-renowned visual artist meets a trendy brand? The answer is on the road, in between several music festivals around Europe (Dour in Belgium, DGTL in Barcelona, ...).

This summer, feel like a rock star in the KOMONO x Pierre Debusschere's interactive installation.  While the physical and virtual world will blend together, you are projected into a music video directed by Debusschere himself. Dance, enjoy and share this moment on your social network.
