PRADA, REWORKED

With Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool, Prada brings the thinking behind Re-Nylon to a different part of the wardrobe. Cashmere offcuts, spinning residues and surplus fabrics become the starting point for new knitwear and ready-to-wear, made in Tuscany and Umbria.

Re-Cashmere uses 100% recycled cashmere, while Re-Wool blends virgin wool with recycled wool and cashmere. One detail feels particularly considered: the recovered materials are sorted by colour, avoiding the need for further dyeing. What gets made depends on what is available, so quantities are limited and the same shade may never return exactly as before.

That small variation is perhaps the most appealing part. Across sweaters, jackets, trousers and skirts, the process leaves room for a certain unpredictability. For a house with such a precise visual language, letting the material set a few of the rules feels like a fitting way forward.
