Over the decades, this distinctive architecture has moved from clothing to accessories, inspiring the Hourglass Bag first introduced for Winter 2019. In 2026, Pierpaolo Piccioli reimagines the icon with a softer, more fluid construction, balancing elegance with practicality.
Firm yet relaxed, the Hourglass Avenue features a hinged handle, supple folding flap and magnetic closure engraved with 10 Avenue George V — a reference to Balenciaga’s historic Paris ateliers and present-day headquarters. Rooted in the House’s past while freed from rigidity, the bag transforms an archival silhouette into an expression of contemporary ease.
