For its Fall/Winter 2026–27 campaign, Maison Margiela steps into the realm of cinema with ANONYMITY, a film starring Rebecca Hall and directed by Thibaut Grevet. Conceived through the codes of a psychological thriller, the campaign unfolds in a dark, enigmatic atmosphere where fashion and suspense become inseparable.
Hall finds herself confronted by a masked double mirroring her appearance, turning the encounter into an unsettling exploration of identity and perception. Who is real, and how well can we ever truly know ourselves? With its vintage thriller undertones, ANONYMITY transforms these questions into a cinematic tension built around doubles, masks and uncertainty.
The project also continues Maison Margiela’s ongoing dialogue with film, following previous cinematic experiments. Here, the Fall/Winter collection becomes part of the narrative itself, inhabiting a world where appearances deceive and identity is never quite what it seems.
